Hey everyone. We are aware of the (rather embarrassing) bug with the personal shield generator, where it does not take damage from melee attacks. We are looking at resolving this asap.

Indeed, this 1000% - good game design is evoking emotion more than anything.
Some people think From Software design hard bosses for difficulty’s sake. They are wrong. The game is challenging because they want you to feel this. But you can’t feel this without being challenged. This moment sums up the entire design philosophy of every Soulsborne game.

I've seen a lot of people give me lots of cred for this patch as if I am the sole person responsible. I want to make it clear that the team are the ones that made it happen. Without their effort, design sensibilities, diligence and passion none of this would have been possible.
