A final point from @mart_compton on AI as assessment innovation

Tweet Image 1

What is assessment for in the age of AI? The essay is not dead! But we need to focus on process much more @mart_compton

The three AIs: Artificial intelligence, academic integrity, assessment innovation. @mart_compton describes all 3 as pandora’s boxes… do we want to look inside?

GenAI is a catalyst for change, an opportunity argues @mart_compton

Sattam Ray (UoR student) introduced the term Techno stress… the way that some students are stressed about all the uses of technology

Students on this panel are asking for more assessments that involve critical thinking and showing what has been understood…

How will genAI impact assessment in the future? Mike Crone (UoR student) pleads for teachers to NOT allow AI assistance at universities arguing that otherwise degrees could become worthless

Other themes that UoR students are raising are choice of assessments, and nested scaffolded assessments where feedback can be used during a course. Giving examples (exemplars) also mentioned…

How can academic staff make assessment more inclusive? Rahasia Ferrer (UoR student) asks for more guidance on assessment expectations and demystifying the assessment process… asks for two-way dialogue
