At Allan Herbarium (CHR) main entrance three plants are queueing at the door waiting to be accessioned. Two naturalised solanums (S. chenopodioides and S. nigrum) and the native ti kōuka.

Fieldwork in Marlborough collecting tororaro (Muehlenbeckia astonii) for genetic study in vicinity of Cape Campbell. Also collected prostrate Senecio probably unnamed & restricted to C. Campbell mudstone. Picked up erect M. aff. ephedroides from inland Kaikoura Ranges.

This afternoon we planted the kuta in the upper lake at @ZEALANDIA with Te Roopu Raranga o Manaia from Hikoikoi. They were so stoked to be a part of it and are looking forward to future harvest

In flower now ... NZ native Hibiscus richardsonii (left & top) has self-seeded in my garden for the last decade. I also have H. trionum (with dark eye) doing the same – it is unresolved whether trionum is native or naturalised.

The image below is a great example of our extreme history of land clearance to farm animals is coming home to roost. Naked steep hillsides are quick to slip. We should retire marginal land and return it to native forests and enable landowners to claim carbon credits. 1/2

It's a post from an aerial spreading buisness based out of Napier. They've been flying in supplies to remote farms and took a bunch of photos like this...
