Today is World Children's Day and we hope that you agree that this video shares a powerful message, that our young people do not have access to the PE, sport and play that they need to live happy, healthy and active lives. Together, we can do more to support our young people.…
Dear #PEteachers, My team and I work endlessly to bring this to you. 😅 Please share and distribute to everyone who may benefit. 🙏 Infographics utterly free to all. 😇 Enjoy!! hubs.ly/Q02jR-3H0
The result in absolute terms is this: Non-graduates in the UK and US earn almost exactly the same, but graduates in the US now earn 35% more per hour than grads in the UK.
But look what happens when we break this down by region within the UK: The graduate wage premium has fallen everywhere *except London*. If you work in the capital, having a degree is just as valuable today as it was in 1997.
.@GillianKeegan has more questions to answer. Her Govt has stood by and done nothing while schools have crumbled and children’s education has suffered. New funding is urgently needed to upgrade school buildings – the problems with RAAC are the tip of the iceberg. #ValueEducation…
.@GillianKeegan a good job?!🤔 On your Government’s watch, thousands of children are having their education disrupted at the start of a new academic year because of crumbling concrete and unsafe school buildings. The problem with RAAC has been known for years and it’s the tip of…
Education secretary Gillian Keegan is recorded on camera saying others ‘have been sat on their a***s’ on schools Raac crisis and shares frustration about not being thanked for doing ‘a f***ing good job’ itv.com/news/2023-09-0…
First year as HOD complete today! Can’t believe how quick the year has gone. Lots to be proud of this year but equally quite sad seeing some brilliant members of the faculty, and now close friends move onto new ventures. I wish them all the success in the future 👏🏻
Kevin Sinfield emotionally carried his former Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow over the finish line at the inaugural Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon, having pushed his friend around the 26.2 miles in his wheelchair ❤️
The @NEUnion consultative ballot on the Government's pay offer has been rejected by an overwhelming 98% of NEU teacher members in England on a turnout of 66%. #NEU2023 #SaveOurSchhols

This isnt an offer from Government it is an insult. £1000 non-consolidated. 4.5% in September AND UNFUNDED! I will be voting to REJECT. No more pay cuts! A teacher in 6th year: 🏴 £48.5k (from Jan) 🏴 £44K (from Sept) 🏴 £39K Vote no! Full funding and parity is what we need
Gillian Keegan: - Hasn't made any serious offer - Hasn't even began serious negotiations - Has recommended a further pay cut for next year - Has indicated that next year's pay award should come out of existing budgets (no extra funding) Cancel next week's strikes? No
I think this analogy also works for PE where we have a different learning objective (or sometimes 3!) every lesson and we move onto the next one with no real consideration whether the first ones have been met or not. A lesson is not a good unit of learning within PE.
🧵 Imagine you went out for a meal. You’re happily enjoying your starter when the waiter whips it away from you & plonks down your main course. You’re a few bites in & then the same happens with your dessert, then your coffee. Then the waiter quickly clears the table & closes up
The 1930 World Cup was absolutely mental. The refs wore suits, the Bolivians played in berets, and the Romanian team was selected by the King... and that's the tame stuff. From premature funerals to managers knocked out with chloroform, here's a short history of the madness...
1/ Having been promised an energy price freeze, millions will be shocked when hit with a 25% rise in fuel bills in October. 5 million kids risk being pushed into poverty, with charities having to stop feeding the hungry so they can help the starving. We have to act. [THREAD]
A brilliant holiday read! @Doug_Lemov has challenged my thinking of effective & progressive practice designs particularly as I create SoW’s. I highly recommend to all PEople, it contains lots of fantastic examples and videos of best practice across subject different disciplines.
