What a historic day for @LACity! Thank you to all who joined us for this exciting announcement about the #sustainable future for our beautiful City.
BIG NEWS: Today I’m announcing that @LACity will recycle 100% of its wastewater by 2035 — a major step to expand water conservation and reduce reliance on imported water.
.@MayorOfLA is here to talk about #recycledwater and the synergies between @LACitySAN & @LADWP By 2035, 100% of the water at our #Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant will be recycled, as compared to 27% now. That recycled #water will make up 35% of our @LACity #watersupply!
The #OneWaterLA plan doesn’t just focus on #drought, but also #floodcontrol and other topics. This @latimes article explains how a mega-storm could affect the #LA region. 💧 latimes.com/local/californ…

TY to @LAAreaChamber for the invite to join the #energy #water #environmental #sustainability council panel focused on #MeasureW implementation and projects w/ esteemed colleagues: Shahram Kharaghani Matt Frary Gil Crozes . Exciting times in #water ! #WaterIsLife
Great panel today on #MeasureW implementation. @LACoPublicWorks and @LACitySAN on next steps, @CarolloTweets on the variety of project delivery methods, and @TetraTech on real world examples of multi-benefit projects.
Any @lacitysan or @LADWP customer who is a federal worker going without pay should contact LADWP immediately to learn more about these options at 1-800-DIAL-DWP.
This is a scary time for federal workers in L.A. and across America. If the President is going to sit on his hands while families go without paychecks, then we will do our part. I’ve directed @LADWP and @LACitySAN to offer assistance and payment plans. mayor.la/6RWX30nn0P4

"The #Drought Contingency Plan calls for NV, AZ & CA to voluntarily reduce their use of the river to leave more #water in #LakeMead. #California would join in reductions for the 1st time, surrendering 200,000AFY, should Lake Mead drop 40ft+" 💧💧💧 reviewjournal.com/news/politics-…
Happy #WorldToiletDay! Did you know nothing but TP & human waste should go in the toilet? Hair, feminine hygiene products, cigarettes, wipes, bandaids, toys, etc. should be placed in trash. lacitysan.org/dontflushthat #ToiletsarenotTrashcans #DontFlushThat #SavetheSewers #share
It was an honor to have @Le_SIAAP, the only interdepartmental organization for water purification in Europe, here from Paris last week for a collaboration and knowledge exchange.
