“Six years ago I was taking omelet orders as a waitress in New York. I didn’t have health insurance. My family was fighting foreclosure, and we were struggling with bills after my dad passed away from cancer. Like millions of Americans, we were just looking for an honest shake”
.@aoc: "There are millions of people in this country, and I was one of them, and I was one of them, where you are working two, three shifts a day to try to make ends meet. This is real life."
You’ve got a baby on your hip, you’ve got three shifts that day, you’re not reading the newspapers with cup of coffee in the mornings. This is real life.
People getting mad at @AOC for saying Tulsi Gabbard's nomination is a "pro war" nomination are forgetting how keen Gabbard was on Russia bombing Syrians, and how mad Gabbard got at Obama (on Fox of all places!) for not getting tougher on "Islamic" terrorists:
weather alert: @AOC will join @thereidout tonight at 7:30 p.m. est.
Listen to @AOC here:
Asked @AOC what migrant families should be doing to prepare for Trump. Here's what she said —
And still hasn't moved to the district, or the city, apparently!

Asked @AOC about what she learned from her Instagram survey of Trump/Dem voters: “A lot of it is speaking to people's economic reality, having a very targeted message for the working class. “I think he's lying through his teeth, about it, but [Trump] still has something to say”
“Democrats are now entering a period of reinvention and resistance, and they have to figure out how to do both things fast … and both things well.” @michele_norris writes for @MSNBC.com: msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-…
WATCH: @AOC is answering questions on Instagram right now. ⬇️
It’s going to take time to sort through what happened Tuesday. But I've read a lot of takes the past few days (some good, many bad), and I've had a lot of people ask how I won one of the toughest districts in the country by over 13%. Here are some thoughts: 🧵
We have to run from the bottom up. The demands of the working class, like better wages, must be front and center.
It's struck a nerve because it's incredibly shitty. AOC was a phenomenal team player all through the cycle and anyone who's launching attacks on her right now is just trying to settle their own personal scores.
This has a really struck a nerve among many Dems. I've heard from countless House Dem sources telling me they couldn't disagree more with this take. Many pointed out AOC appeared with Pat Ryan close to the election and that Ryan cruised to victory in a tough seat
AOC barnstormed the battlegrounds and helped turn out lots of voters... forever grateful for her leadership

btw what remains probably the most shocking thing about this is that a lot of NYC Dems have nothing like AD82 in their districts where AOC is getting bombarded with precincts like this. It makes the fact she got more raw votes even more remarkable
You aren't ready for me to drop the ultimate truth nuke: Raw votes in NY14: AOC - 123,239 Forte - 55,580 Kamala - 122,455 Trump - 63,097 Raw votes in NY15: Ritchie - 121,318 Duran - 33,405 Vega - 3,476 Kamala - 127,526 Trump - 43,716
