Many will endure hardships. For me (and committed colleagues), it means the struggle to defend science + counter antiscience forces becomes more complicated/daunting. This time we’ll need better support from the societies, college presidents, elected leaders who care. Tough times
Elections have consequences. The Supreme Court will be changed for a generation. I’ll never see a moderate court again in my lifetime. Alito and Thomas will step down and Trump will appoint 40 year old partisans to the bench. The damage he is about to inflict on our institutions…
Countless Americans are endangered now on a scale and intensity almost unheard of in modern America. Our first responsibility is to protect these people and resist these forces.
There are now about 3 hours remaining to vote. The deadline is 8 PM today. If you haven’t voted yet vote ASAP. If you are in line by 8 PM stay in line. They are required to let everyone in line vote.
Reminder for those in Philly and Pennsylvania: you have about 5 hours left to vote. The voting deadline is 8 PM. If you get in line before 8 PM you will be able to vote. They cannot make you leave the line.
