A chilly and damp night is in store for central PA with temperatures falling into the 30s combined with scattered light rain and pockets of drizzle. Rainfall amounts will generally be light as it falls into a dry airmass across the region.

Clouds will increase overnight ahead of rain moving into central Pennsylvania Thursday morning and continuing to fall into early Friday. Rainfall amounts will be highest across the Laurel mountains where up to one half inch may fall.

☀️ Outside of patchy valley fog across NW PA this morning, expect sunny skies with dry conditions today. ☁️ Clouds increase this evening and into Thursday ahead of the next chances of precipitation. The best chances for precipitation come after sunrise on Thursday. #PAwx


For a flash freeze to occur, air temperatures must be 32°F or lower. As such, snow squalls can happen anytime between November and March. Remember this video when snow squalls are in the forecast. There is no safe place on a highway during a snow squall. #SnowSquallSafetyPA

Clear skies will allow temps across central PA to dip below freezing overnight. Patchy fog is also possible overnight, mainly across northwestern PA. Expect sunny skies for Wednesday, then increasing clouds Wed night ahead of rain, and possibly some snow showers on Thursday.
