This is just too cool The Home Reef in Tonga, sits above a volcano: sometimes it grows, sometimes it shrinks or even disappears!

Good news, everyone! I'm leaving academia and moving to LA to join Ethos Space. We're going to make space resources happen at scales and on timelines that seem preposterous. First step: pads and propellant on the Moon.

My beloved and favorite tree, the American Beech, is getting hammered by a blight, and some indications are it’s a one-way decline. Does anyone have any good information and hopefully something positive, like a chance that this will turn around? Just devastating.

This huge stratovolcano erupted billions of years ago on #Mars. Channels formed in the ash deposits. The cliffs at the bottom of the image represent an ancient coastline with the Eridania sea where subaqueous hydrothermal deposits formed. Amazing #geology!

Hey #Geologists, how do you think this 140-km long fold complex formed on Mars? It seems to be an anticline with steeply dipping volcanic rocks in the flanks. You can see the nearly vertical bedding in the near side limb of the fold.

Agree we are at at a time of unprecedented opportunity to do science at the Moon (and Mars) with humans. Let's do the work to get it right 🚀👩‍🚀👨‍🚀🔬🔍🛰 (go Modality 3! 🤓)

Zurbuchen says major shift happening at interface of science and human expl that provides unique opps. Went on with a very interesting discussion of new modalities that need to be embraced to bring two together, but went by too fast to tweet. #VonBraun2022

Yesterday was my last day of working at Google. Perhaps this comes as surprise to you twitter folks, as I haven't widely announced that I left academia to try something new. Here's what I learned in 9 months as a Data Analyst who (temporarily) left Astronomy for Big Tech. 1/n

One particularly neat thing Emily found is that both young & old impact crater lakes show evidence for significant inlet valley incision. This suggests similar levels of fluvial geomorphic work across eras, despite water being generally more abundant early in Mars history. (4/4)
