My eldest has joined a football team (and his dad is the coach!). Watching 6 year olds play football is genuinely one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen in MY LIFE

This is largely excruciating nonsense. Children need calm, safe environments where the expectations are clear, scaffolded, and taught; where boundaries are upheld and consequences happen when they are breached-with support when required. Treating misbehaviour as a pathology, or…

Elementary school teachers, exhausted by how much class time is spent calming students down or responding to emotional outbursts? These 19 teacher-tested strategies can help young students learn how to regulate their own emotions. 😌 edut.to/3YD4QIE

Doing a home project with my 4 year old and he loved sounding out and writing ‘man’ on policeman and postman! @SWLiteracy @KineticLetters

Amazing appointment, hurrayyyy 🎉🎉🎉

Very pleased to be part of Ofsted's external reference group for curriculum, teaching and assessment. I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences as a primary deputy head to help shape policy and practice.

Telling a child that their actions have consequences, and then ensuring those consequences happen, is *exactly* how you teach someone to trust you. Because you meant what you said. Never holding a child accountable for their actions, never challenging, never penalising them, is…

I don’t expect any presents at all as a teacher. I’m so grateful for anything. However, my absolute FAVES are the trinkets kids make. I got asked what my favourite colour was and a boy in Y5 made me this. I adore it ❣️

Couldn’t be prouder 🤩

Super proud to share that one of our Literacy Specialists at @PrincecroftPri is now a fully fledged @SWLiteracy trainer too! 👀 👉 sounds-write.co.uk/upcoming-cours…

Finished delivering my first @SWLiteracy course today! Had a fab time and such a lovely group; I’m so pleased I’ve helped them on their way to becoming teachers of Sounds-Write ☺️ 📚

Always so so lovely to see @SWLiteracy and @TitaBeaven at our school - I love when we get to talk all things words! 💫

My 6-year-old has not stopped talking about it!

Year 1 @PrincecroftPri had the BEST school trip today at @SalisburyCath Thank you to all of the tour guides that gave such an enriching and informative tour. The children are all desperate to return and can’t wait to take home their medieval tiles (once they’ve air-dried)!
