I forgot to share the Mother’s Day cards we made in Year 5. They made the origami envelopes themselves and thought very hard about colour combinations. The flowers were the hardest part.. They did so well on this paper craft!

We experimented with shading techniques on Friday. In my opinion, it’s always good to think about composition and display in sketchbooks- How can you use up the whole page?
We have a Shakespeare unit for the first two weeks back and the English lead bought this book for each year group. I must say, it is a stunning anthology with gorgeous illustrations. So accessible. Great to read for pleasure too- I’ve just enjoyed Hamlet and Macbeth!
Nice to see that even in this modern age, some things don’t change at a disco: Knee slidessss across the assembly hall and that one kid that gives dancing 120% throughout the night
The children know how much I love the Paddington books (and film!) and one of them brought this amazing coin in to show me! How thoughtful and how incredible is the coin design?!

For those teachers who need to hear it: My new school is heaven. I have never felt so welcomed, trusted and valued even though it’s only my second day of teaching. There is better out there- don’t let one school stop your happiness, passion and potential. Put you first♥️

Each day I have unscrewed this boy’s hot pot for him and we joke over his yummy, hot lunch. “I’ve got you your very own hot pot Miss Kay, so when you have your lunch at your new school, you can think of me!” 😭♥️😭♥️😭
