Watch our shadow move as the day goes by! Today we talked about how the Earth rotating on its axis creates a sunrise and a sunset. We also noticed how the Sun's position in the sky changes the length of our shadows.

And just like that, 3rd grade ended 2023 with a bang! 🎆 Thanks to a chemical reaction, we created a gas (carbon dioxide) from the @alkaseltzer tablet


We had a blast (from the past) at #HistoricOakView today! We made some butter, looked at artifacts, saw some goats, and spun the cotton gin. We learned about the sharecropping industry in NC and how farming in NC changed during the Antebellum Period.

Ms. Messenger visited our class and demonstrated how the chytrid fungi affects frogs. We talked about the importance of not polluting water and how frogs breathe

Today we made Robot Fingers for our Bones, Muscles, and Skin unit. We used paper as the skin, cardstock as the bone, string as the tendon, and we acted as the muscular system to make it work!

We spent a beautiful day at the @NCBotGarden exploring the 3 regions of NC. We dissected pitcher plants, collected soil samples, and observed many different species of plants 🌿🌱🌼
