#ASPS2023 was an amazing conference. So many great talks, a lot of inspiring research and quality posters. The NextGen were outstanding! I and the rest of the WSU Protected Cropping MasterClass team are honoured to receive the ASPS Teaching and Outreach Award.
A great little article to remind us of why our research into Blue Banded Bees is so important. abc.net.au/news/2021-11-1…
Farmers open their gates for firsthand look at life on the land farmers.org.au/news/farmers-o… Two things I absolutely love to see, people's connection to food and agriculture being reinvigorated, and women in agriculture being recognised alongside their male peers. Funding well spent

A job for the weekend: Plant and sow those brightly-coloured #flowers we all adore to feed and attract #insects. Don't be shy mix them up to give #bees and #butterflies plenty of #pollen. You’ll find hoverflies and ladybirds will also arrive to eat aphids. ow.ly/TRyH50E96BR

What a lovely way to celebrate International Women's Day. Globally, women contribute 43% of the agricultural labour force, approx. 65% engaged in crop farming, and amazingly 39% are growing in urban areas around the world. This doesn't include non-labour. horticulture.com.au/hort-innovatio…
A huge thank you to Aaron Brocken, grower & regenerative agriculturalist, from Harvest Farms. We had an excellent long lunch and farm tour today. Amazing food by chef Will Houia, of Spicer's Retreat and service from their management (thanks Sam) and staff. spicersretreats.com/restaurants/ch…
#LivingSustainabily is easier than you think when you link in with community groups in the know. My love for technology and science goes hand-in-hand with valuing age-old-wisdoms and artisan knowledge. The Hawkesbury Campus offers more than meets the eye. #Earthcare_HDRAA

I'm always a lover of new technologies & if they can serve our farmers to affortably increase yields, & conserve soil health, all whilst reducing our reliance on petrochemicals and #reducewaste, then I'm an advocate. #AgriculturalScience in action! thefarmermagazine.com.au/csiro-develops…
I have just booked my seats for a 4-course degustation farm lunch at Harvest Farms. I can't wait to sit in the open field, watching the goats graze and the food I will be enjoying grow. Applauding sustainable agriculture. harvestfarms.com.au

VIRTUAL SOUP KITCHEN - Lets Make Dinner Together! Hosted by Daniel Jantos - Sweet Potato & Black Bean Chili - Multifaith Chaplaincy life.westernsydney.edu.au/multifaith/rsv… What a great idea, especially when students are feeling isolated AND trying to budget and eat healthily. Great job!
Absolutely correct. Additionally people of colour are doing all they can but it's now that "whites" have to stand in solidarity for these changes to have a long lasting effect and outlast the hype. What type of world do you want?
"This is an extraordinary moment," says legendary scholar Angela Davis. "One never knows when conditions may give rise to a conjuncture such as the current one, that rapidly shifts popular consciousness and suddenly allows us to move in the direction of radical change."
