They also attended a presentation by Cities Youth Initiative researchers Emmanuel Akandwanaho (@Ema_Thee_Emcee) and Michelle Nagawa on their efforts to digitally map the settlements. The project is believed to be the first survey of informal settlements in the history of Uganda.
First, the Lincoln Institute representatives visited the city’s Katanga informal settlements, where they held discussions with residents and local leadership about their experiences with land tenure and ownership.
