While Gardiner takes a victory lap on Aldi's opening at Six Corners, just a reminder that he not only worked to kill the larger Clarendale development (which led to an FBI investigation), but he also specifically tried to keep Aldi from coming to the neighborhood.

Gardiner news: Constituents who sued him for blocking them/deleting their critical comments on his FB page scored a key win in their ongoing legal battle. A jury will determine if Gardiner will pay them damages after a judge rules he violated their rights. blockclubchicago.org/2023/09/26/ald…
The best part here is that Gardiner seems to have tanked himself by saying he had no social media policy, he didn't plan to create one, and that in the future he might go back to arbitrarily censoring constituents.
What you have to love is Gardiner has so many problems 50% of this story is about this case and then it requires another 10 paragraphs to outline his other legal problems.

Each new tenant calls the alderman about permit parking, without prompting. Alderman Gardiner's staff is just rude. "I tried contacting the alderman office regarding zone parking on the side street. They denied me, and got extremely rude when I provided my address"
