Every “Trump’s going to take trans people’s healthcare away” is met with two conservative responses at the same time: 1. “No he isn’t, you’re hysterical.” 2. “Good. Your kind is mentally ill and should be eradicated.” And I just wish they’d talk to each other a little bit

Inflation peaked at 9% of which ARP (not BBB, or IRA as BBB became) probably contributed only 0.5- to 2 percentage points. Without ARP we'd still have had bad inflation and the Ds would have been underdogs like every G7 incumbent gov't to face voters in 2024.

If BBB had been smaller and inflation lower, we'd be talking about the GOP losing the popular vote in 8 of 9 elections and how it needed to become more left leaning on social policies to win. Introspection is good, but this garment rending really doesn't make sense.

You can tell the OP doesn’t have kids bc they think it would be good to have a kid who only needed 4 hours of sleep.

having kids in the next 5 years might be a tragic mistake every smart bio founder/scientist i’ve talked to seems to think embryo editing for things like short sleeper, reduced cancer risk, etc is possible on a near term horizon imagine having two kids a couple years apart, one…

If you would like a public service to be free, you should spend your time organizing and lobbying for our laws to change. Otherwise you’re just cheating your fellow citizens

Why doesn’t he ever do these antics before the game, when the other team can see it? Funny how it’s always done when it won’t be seen till AFTER the game. Fake tough guy. Easy to do up 2 TD’s at half

Why is More Perfect Union posting a press release from an anesthesiologist association complaining about only getting paid the Medicare rate? Don’t we want *all doctors* to get the Medicare rate? Lina Khan is literally suing the anesthesiologists right now for surprise billing!

Blue Cross Blue Shield in Connecticut, New York and Missouri has declared it will no longer pay for anesthesia for the full length of some surgeries. It the procedure goes over a certain time, anesthesia will not be covered for the duration. asahq.org/about-asa/news…

Still early but running a bubba seems like a strong move

If only there were an extremely mild form of left-populism that talked about “the forgotten middle class” and “people who work hard and play by the rules”

So @hankgreen or someone should breakdown the energy lifecycle of a turbine vs gas powered power plant in practical terms. How much electricity does it take to make the turbine blades, transport materials, etc

“Everything should be electric! We don’t need oil and gas!” 🥴🥴🥴

I don’t think it’s particularly complicated why @stephenasmith dislikes CU or other Colorado teams

Why do @stephenasmith and @CameronNewton hate the University of Colorado so much?

Personally, I believe we should run government like a business in that we ought to invest in the things that make us richer. Universal health care, reducing child poverty, and education have super high returns

The child tax credit, increased ACA subsidies, and student loan forgiveness helped people. All good policy. But it didn't move people emotionally to our side. Why? Maybe because most people don't want a handout. They want the rules unrigged so they can succeed on their own.

How is it possible to do a thread on church architecture but omit the Protestant Revolution?

What happened? A little something called democracy, which makes society both uncomfortable with being exceptional and forced to take a utilitarian look at building construction, eschewing beauty in the name of cost-cutting I’ll explain in the 🧵👇

Getting a lot of Charles Woodson and Myles Jack responses. Woodson had 11 catches in his Heisman year. Travis Hunter has 9 catches for TDs Jack had almost 400 rush yards during his career. Hunter has over 900 receiving yards this season We have never seen this

What Ashton Jeanty is doing is absolutely amazing. Travis Hunter is doing something we will never see again.

A subtext here, which I think is correct, is that AI will not compete in many superstar economies. The reality is you can already get MUCh cheaper directors and actors than the leading ones. Yet people pay top dollar, to be at the very very top of the quality gradient. Why?…

Didn’t expect Ben Affleck to have the most articulate and realistic explanation where video models and Hollywood is going
