This solar flare (and the flare reported on the 27th) are from the same region that produced the auroras earlier this month; this region rotated around the Sun's far side and is now back in view of Earth. Keep an eye on @NASASun and @NWSSWPC for the latest solar flare updates!
The Sun emitted a strong solar flare on May 29, 2024, peaking at 10:37 a.m. ET. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured an image of the event, which was classified as X1.4.
