100% agree. If they had just left her alone for a bit, she would have calmed down. At worst, a towel thrown without force in her direction would have done the trick. This poor woman needed an ambulance, not the police. But what she really needed was better trained aged care staff

I am exactly the same weight as our sever dementia suffer resident. If I was in a crisis situation (I have no training) needing to protect life I have done a mind experiement if I could disarm him - yes!

../2 And this has changed so many people. Awful, I hate how I now remove knives and forks from my residents room/hands and carry them myself. With the mindset of saving a severe dementia suffer from being tasered! I dont need that mindset - enough to worry about!

I know I am suppose to let the courts sort things out - so sorry. But having spent a lot of time in aged care sites - NOPE - there was never a need (I cannot ever think of a need) to taser (leading to death) a resident. Sorry, NOPE! ../2 theguardian.com/australia-news…

Today was the memorial service for Alan Robson. Been described, appropriately, to me as the bedrock of the university. A really sad day @uwanews A day the breadth of Alan's reach was at the fore. A kind and collegiate man. A man loved by all as a vice chancellor.

Remembrance Day at @uwanews a lovely sombre reflective ceremony that brought our university community together. A reflection of peace and humanity.

Gold - Australian story. And for our overseas listeners this is not "normal" in Australia.. But a gold story. abc.net.au/news/2024-11-1…

What a terrific story of my lifetime... Look at our smaller states - Tassie!! Look at the incremental improvement since 2000 for all states. This is all about making a nation a better kinder healther community.

It's THAT time of the year. Best wishes to all students sitting their university examinations.

Today I woke up NOT wanting to read the news.

Something similar to Robodebt springs to mind here , in the scurrilous attempts to fool the public.

Must have had foxtel installed. That will no doubt boost the star rating whilst the customers are eating party pies and calling out for help to reach the jug of cordial.

Audits of aged care homes has been about helping the homes - no matter how disgusting they are - to stay in business.

Aged care star rating is failure! FIX IT NOW quote: "Almost 150 aged care homes that did not meet minimum standards for safety and care were awarded four-or five-star compliance ratings last year." theguardian.com/australia-news…

Constantgraph is a terrific tool for watching smarthings home automation sensor data. I totally love it - thank you for a wonderful tool.
