Was wondering why I got waved onto buses without tapping ye old ORCA -- Metro buses are free through end of service Friday bc of the heat wave.
If you’re still wearing your nose out of your mask, why even bother.

This time last year, we were preparing for a record-smashing heat dome that killed over 100 Washingtonians in three days.
High today was 57 degrees. Solstice is in nine days. The year without a spring rolls on.
Lot of people need to hear this: Apartments are residences. Humans live in them. If you build an apartment, then it is in a “residential neighborhood.” Many people who oppose apartments say they live in a “residential neighborhood.” I live in a “residential neighborhood.”
Seems like pretty good #hysteriapod "Fuck That Guy" fodder, no? [cc @morninggloria @AlyssaMastro44, with apologies if this is like the hundredth time you've seen this]
I flew cross-country last Tuesday. On Friday, I got a notice of exposure that traced back to that flight. I'm not panicking about it because I'm vaxxed/boosted and I wore a mask. It shouldn't, but the lack of consideration shown for others during this pandemic still astounds me.
The recent court ruling has given travelers the option to choose whether or not to wear masks on flights, buses, and trains. Having been on a plane myself yesterday—and recognizing cases are on the rise in many states—here is why I will continue to wear a mask when I travel. 1/6
You're not a bad person for driving a car. Our system encourages it! But you are part of the problem if you oppose efforts to improve transit, make our cities more walkable and bicycling friendly, and facilitate housing abundance because you don't want to ever be inconvenienced.
The best New Year's resolution I ever made was to start devouring all my nicest things, and save no small pleasure for an unspecified future. Now I burn the good candles, wear the expensive perfume at home, scribble imperfectly in pretty notebooks. You can't pin joy like a moth.
COVID-19 testing results are half day passes. Not multi-day passes. A test is a point in time, meaning at the moment you took the test, whether you’re positive or negative. That result can change day by day. That’s why serial testing is best.
Seeing a lot of people debating Sawant's job as a councilperson generally right now and let me just say that you don't have to stan Sawant to think the recall play was disingenuous and uncalled for.
There isn't a good single narrative on the Recall election because a chunk of voters took it as a referendum of Sawant generally while another chunk of voters took it as a referendum of recall elections (either generally or specifically in this case moving to a Dec election).
love is leaving the bed unmade because the cat is still sleeping there.
