I’m now in the most insightful & powerful session with @LeoIgwe on Philosophy for Children & Transformation of School System in Africa: a Case from Nigeria. Much to reflect on how we transform systems & a reminder of the huge disconnect between policy & practice #P4C #TeamRE

Brilliant first session from @stephenlaw60 on Raising Good Citizens in Turbulent Times. Such fantastic questions from the floor getting us to think about options and terms being bandied around and what we can do in school contexts @SAPERE_P4C #P4C#philosophy

Absolutely loved this book. Essential reading in the current climate. Good to see the essential work of @LeoIgwe mentioned. The political discussion also interesting. In the last few days I’ve been called ‘witch’ as a slur for starting an abortion rights petition @witchesofscotl1

Faith 'clinics' are not clinics. They pose enormous danger to public health and well being. Close them down....prophets and prophetesses are not medical or health officers. Shut down churches that operate faith clinics. @AustSkeptics @BlackSkepticsLA modernghana.com/news/1356841/p…

Will those who lynched Deborah Samuel ever be brought to justice? If yes when? If no why? @EndBlasphemylws @EndBlasphemyLaw @blasphemy @unwomenafrica

We need to make this a global program. Part of the reason for the lack of growth or limited development of humanism is a lack of some study program or foundational course that equips those who identify as humanists with skills to lead and organise. This has to change.

It petrified me too. Every one must be free to say whatever s/he thinks about Islam, its prophet or prophets, and teachings.... bbc.com/news/articles/…

Leo believes that although the Muslim North is popularly known for physical violence against ‘infidels’, the Christian South applies psychological and structural violence. @Humanists_UK @HumanistsInt @abhumanists @americnhumanist 76crimes.com/2024/11/01/afr…

Yes but with your support @Humanists_UK @HumanistsInt @abhumanists @witchesofscotl1 @_endwitchhunts and so many others....

Activist @LeoIgwe is at the forefront of efforts to help people accused of witchcraft in Nigeria, as it can destroy their lives, and even lead to them being lynched, report Jonathan Griffin and Olaronke Alo for #BBCVerrify. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

I hope this publicity helps bring hope, relief and justice to victims-and relatives of victims-of witch persecution everywhere!

His organisation Advocacy For Alleged Witches tries to protect and support victims of witch hunting. Such hunts can turn violent and sometimes lead to lynchings.

They say: “not everything is scientifically or logically explainable”. Or they would westernize science and locate their beliefs outside the cannons of Western science. They go to any length to persuade or to find some justification for their outlandish beliefs and claims.
