Two great minds of law enforcement standing shoulder to shoulder. New horizons ahead for @LACoSheriff who has served with distinction.

Even as this door closes for Jim due to a lost re-election bid for @LACoSheriff, many others will open. American policing will always need leaders like him. latimes.com/local/lanow/la…

I’ve had the opportunity to be a participant & a player in the finest law enforcement arena in America. I’m very proud of the tremendous work that the men & women of the @LASDHQ have done. I’m proud of the accomplishments that we’ve done to move the organization forward.

“In four years we were able to achieve the kind of #change that takes generally ten years to achieve," says @LACoSheriff, "I’m very proud of the work that the men and women of the organization and all of our partners have been able to accomplish.”

Today I had the great pleasure to serve & volunteer at the @TheLAMission with many community members and even @Pharrell This annual #Thanksgiving event is a great way to give back to the community & to all those in need. #Thankful @LASDHQ

I owe it to the peo who voted for me to follow this thru to the end. It would be irresponsible for me to concede at this time & abdicate my responsibilities while in a federal diaster declaration & facing mudslides. There’s a lot more to being sheriff than just running for sheriff

Please join me on @ConwayShow shortly to discuss all things elections, natural disasters, federal aid and what it means to be Sheriff. It’s a good day, #LACounty Let’s count our blessings.

I always appreciate the opportunity to come on @ABC7 w/ @abc7ellen @abc7coleen & discuss the good work of @LASDHQ especially what they did, among other public safety officials, for #WoolseyFire. With rain in the forecast we are preparing for any potential issues in the burn areas

I’m very proud of the @LASDHQ men & women who are squaring off vs @LAPDHQ in the Fight for Life Boxing Charity event to benefit @cityofhope They dedicated their time to train hard even while working their normal shifts and some at the #Woolseyfire @LAPDChiefMoore

We at @LASDHQ offer our sincere condolences to the family, coworkers & friends of @GardenaPD Officer Toshio Hirai. Like many of us in #LawEnforcement he was on his way to work to protect the community when he was involved in a tragic traffic collision. Thank you for your service

The badge you’re wearing—it’s not just a piece of metal but a symbol of much more. This badge represents you, your partners, future deputies & all those who came before us & their sacrifice. You’re entering a profession, not a job. Congrats Academy Class #432 @LASDHQ @joinLASD

While touring #WoolseyFire burn areas & seeing the devastation from above it brings a greater understanding that each house is a home. Each home has a life & memories attached to it. We see the frustration of peo trying to get back into their homes & appreciate their cooperation

This fire burned hotter, faster and destroyed not only houses, but deep infrastructure such as power lines, water lines, sewers, roads, light…If you are being held back, it is because your life and the lives of your family and neighbors are still in danger @LACoSheriff McDonnell
