The #220ExB adopted an important decision on @UNESCO's actions in support of Afghans. 🇮🇸Iceland🇮🇸 led amendments, co-sponsored by 40 Member States from all regional groups, highlighting the restrictions posed on Afghan women's and girls' access to education.

Great moment when Iceland submitted its first ever "Man and Biosphere" application to @UNESCO, nominating Snæfellsnes Peninsula as the first #BiosphereReserve in Iceland 🌿@UNESCO_MAB

Today, Iceland🇮🇸 submitted the nation's first Biosphere Reserve nomination to the @UNESCO_MAB Programme. Snæfellsnes Biosphere Reserve will be a driving force in the region's work towards the SDGs, ensuring sustainable use of natural resources, while preserving the local culture.
