Well... I decided to ride Twitter down to its fiery end. But it's not Twitter anymore, so I guess I'm hitting X. I'm not anywhere else. No idea if I will be. It'll be hard to replace what Twitter was. I learned so much just being here and listening. Going to miss that.

Corporal punishment does impact children but not always in the way parents intend. Corporal punishment just taught me to (1) be afraid of the sound of kitchen utensils and (2) hide things better from my parents next time.

My parents used our wooden baking spoons. I still to this day get panicky when I hear someone pull a wooden spoon out of a container.

Only 11% of the time that LA sheriffs spend on stops is for reasonable suspicion of a crime. One of the facts I most wish people to know: very little of the extraordinary budgets of police is spent on crime, and only a minuscule amount on serious crime. reuters.com/legal/governme…

One of the MOST IMPORTANT THINGS your city could do to become more healthy, sustainable, livable, affordable, equitable, successful — stop pretending to “balance” transportation modes, and commit to PRIORITIZING walking/rolling, biking, public transit. HT @dublincycling’s graphic

Why does the concern “for the disabled” only materialize when the primacy of automobiles is threatened? A third of disabilities preclude driving and wheelchair users are the popln most likely to be hit by cars. Mobility is not just for those healthy and wealthy enough to drive.

These laws are overly broad and vague. But that's often the whole point: make librarians, teachers, and others self-censor because they fear being prosecuted or facing ruinous lawsuits. This uncertainty chills speech and it's unconstitutional.

The law would have allowed criminal charges against librarians and booksellers for providing “harmful” materials to minors. huffpost.com/entry/book-ban…

Have you ever seen a rattlesnake drink? Here's a pair of Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes getting some much-needed water after being caught at a home. The reason they were at the home to begin with was to try and access the landscaping irrigation.

I refuse to explain that Black people didn’t benefit from slavery and I’m embarrassed watching others do it. Morrison told you about this type of distraction.

We are not asking for everyone to bike. We are just asking to build enough safe and comfortable bike infrastructure so that anyone that wants to can make that choice.

So frustrating to hear increased vehicle trips called a "recovery" as if this is some measure of success and Denver is "all better now." More car trips and low transit ridership is the opposite of the direction we should be moving in as a city and region. #visionzero #cleanair
