Just a thought, but the longer we spend on social media platforms like Twitter/X, the more money the owners make out of us. Have decided to spend some time over on Blue Sky bsky.app/profile/keanem… Early days yet but it's nice to try new things out.

Only a small sample but am inclined to agree that 'climate change' is the biggest threat to humanity at the moment. In another sense, the biggest threat is complacency and/or lack of awareness.

A quick survey. Which is the biggest threat facing humanity at the moment?

Managed to 'shatter' my strong resistance band. No, I'm not that strong. Am guessing it was due to it being taken abroad and the temperature/pressure in the aircraft hold affected it somehow. Has anyone else come across that? They are good so will get another from @Mad_HQ

Would appreciate some more responses to get a better idea of what my followers think the biggest threat to humanity is at the moment. Please RT for a larger sample. Thanks.

The images of Spain’s floods weren’t created by AI. The trouble is, people think they were theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The town of Hay-on-Wye in Wales is completely dedicated to books and has 26 bookshops but only 2000 residents. That’s one bookshop per 77 people. [📹 happyenchantedhome]

Call me old fashioned. but I wouldn't be driving through a flood or cycling for that matter.

🌧️ 🇫🇷 Paris sous les eaux après de fortes précipitations : certains endroits de la capitale sont particulièrement touchés par des inondations localisées, rendant la circulation difficile et provoquant des dégâts dans plusieurs quartiers.

Has anyone out there had problems with @UPS claiming to have delivered items like @GoPro when they didn't? If you direct message UPS, bots reply and send you down a rabbit hole.

After the València floods led to 150 deaths, it’s worrying to see such incoherence on climate in @UKLabour’s budget. Transport accounts for 30% of our emissions and yet between the fuel duty freeze and the rise in bus fares, we’re going in the wrong direction. #bbcpoliticsnorth

Back in my prime, the 200m IM used to be one of my favourite swim events. If I could just knock about 2 minutes off my current time, the world record could be mine 😀

LEON. MARCHAND. 1:48.88 200 IM. NEW. WORLD. RECORD. 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

Was a lifeguard back in 1976 at what was then King George's open air pool (Wandsworth). Lots of fond memories, rescues and freckles from the sun.

Anyone old enough to remember the summer of 76 ?!🤔

Am always saddened to read of natural disasters around the world (not to mention the man made ones). By way of warning, don't always believe what you read or see online. Here are two AI generated images of the floods in Valencia. Obvious fakes but it is getting harder.

This reminds me to ask: Why is that some cities can manage to have an element of free public transport (like this tram in the central area of Melbourne) while others like London want to maximise income.

The Climate Change Committee’s balanced decarbonisation pathway for surface transport - to which the Government is nominally committed - requires a 17% reduction in miles driven by 2050. That simply cannot be achieved without making bus journeys much cheaper and more accessible.

Dartmoor Darts came second in this one (Age total 100+ mixed 4 x 100m relay). The winner got a world record #SEswimming #Sheffield P.S. My coach won about 9 medals, had a couple of relay team British records and just missed out on a world and European records in other events.

Blimey. A 70 year old just won this 100m butterfly race in an age group British record of 1m 12.78 #SEswimming
