I'd be more encouraged if all leaders in evangelical churches started showing actual understanding of the impact of abuse on victims' daily lives.

The only ones exempt from Freedom of Information law are Royal Household MI5 MI6 National Crime Agency The Church of England. Why the last one?
@churchofengland should now work with the Cabinet Office to designate bishops, dioceses, cathedrals, and Church NCIs as public authorities for the purpose of the Freedom of Information Act. Power and privilege of exemption breeds a culture of secrecy.

Media sources have been reporting today that one bishop - @BishopNewcastle - called for Justin Welby to resign. The truth is that a number of bishops have been calling for his resignation for days. Bishop Helen-Anne was the only one who found the courage to do so in public.
This makes me so angry. By 2013, three Archbishops and ten Bishops ( some now dead) knew of Smyth’s abuse. Smyth was not stopped, but no one is responsible ? No one to be held to account ? @CottrellStephen @cathynewman @BishopNewcastle Stephen Bishops were complicit. Read Makin
