Statement from AMA Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry regarding gender-affirming care in youth
Research is not a club, it is not for a select few, it is for everyone. It is a fundamental building block of Canada that everyone has a stake in. Research improves our health, environment, innovation and economy. Time to invest in researchers, postdocs, and grad students.
This is such a significant step in re-imagining how risk can and should be supported in childhood and youth activities and play. This not only draws more attention to normalizing risks in childhood, but begins to bridge risk and physical literacy together in a more nuanced way.
From “as safe as possible” to “as safe as necessary”: #RiskyPlay improves children’s physical, mental, and social development. Learn more: cps.ca/en/documents/p… @suzannebeno
