Just arrived in Cork. Got a taxi from the train station to the hotel. The taxi driver turned off the metre 5 mins before we got to the hotel because traffic was heavy. As a Kerry woman, I’ll probably be exiled for saying this, but I love Cork.

It’s fitting that 'Song of Granite’ should be on TG4 tonight. The title of the film comes from Tim Robinson’s chapter on Joe Heaney, in his book, 'Connemara: A Little Gaelic Kingdom’. Tim kindly gave us permission to use the title for our film.

Today I went to my local shop for milk. A customer shouted at me because I wanted to keep my distance. I got home, washed my hands and sprayed the milk in Jif (it will always be Jif to me). I washed the milk in soap and water and then I dried it. And THEN I put it in the fridge.
