Happy Windy-Wednesday! Though below our criteria for a wind advisory, wind gusts will still approach or exceed 30 mph at times today, especially in the afternoon and in those areas farther west (i.e. Ohio). Please secure any loose items that are susceptible to getting blown away.

With new snow today, this will be the snowiest January for Pittsburgh since 2011. So far we've had 18.6 this month; 2011 there was 24.1 inches. It is unlikely we will beat that number. The snowiest January on record for Pittsburgh was 1978: 40.2 inches!

Using the reports that you've sent us, here's a map showing how much snow fell yesterday evening into early this afternoon. Due to the advancing warm air yesterday, dry air, and convective snow bands, not everyone (even in the same county) experienced the same amount.
We'd love a snowfall measurement from your location! Please reply to this post if you are able to send one in. Thank you!
Here is a look at a few snowfall measurements we've received: nwschat.weather.gov/p.php?pid=2022…
