GOP is seriously arguing that it’s worth sacrificing the lives of hourly workers so they can get a spray tan again. If they really wanted to reopen the economy, they‘d fund mass testing, contact tracing,& healthcare for people. Instead they’re fighting against hospital funding.
We can deliver UI checks to laid off workers, loans to business owners, stimulus checks to SSI recipients & distance learning to children. We cannot bring the dead back to life. It is monstrous to say only 2-3% will die in our population, whether children or adults.

From my daughter in law who’s a RN in CO: Our hospital has actually set up SEWING stations throughout the building to make masks/gowns out of sterile wrap that’s used in the OR - it’s set up assembly line style with cutting stations & sewing machine stations.
If you find out about a nation-threatening pandemic and your first move is to adjust your stock portfolio you should probably not be in a job that serves the public interest.
During my Senate career I’ve held all assets in a blind trust of which I have no control. Reports that I sold any assets are incorrect, as are reports that I was at a January 24 briefing on coronavirus, which I was unable to attend.
