WTVA reports that law enforcement officers have already shot 20 people in Mississippi this year. The station leads by cataloging non-lethal weapons officers could use instead, but Dep. Grissom says the problem is lack of training on responding to mental health crises.

A constituent thanked @Sam4District14 for providing mental health response training for cops but asked that firefighters and paramedics be trained also because, in her experience, people having a mental health crisis are more comfortable if a firefighter or paramedic responds.
