We agree with @WyndhamCouncil Deputy Mayor @Joshuagilligan: urban sprawl is unsustainable. theage.com.au/national/victo…
Classic reply. Those who don’t live in the outer suburbs think outer suburban people walk to train stations. Yeah….my station is 7km away and no, you just can’t build more train lines because you will need to bulldoze their homes to make room. So the drive 5km - 15km to a…
This is a really terrible idea, as jobs moved in most outer suburban locations will only be accessible by motor vehicle. Maybe pick 2 or 3 key centres on rail lines but that's it. Unlike Sydney with Parramatta, Melb only has 1 CBD
Premier @DanielAndrewsMP says he’s very concerned about this and his government will have a very close look at it. “Those developers say one thing to guarantee the sale and then deliver something very different to guarantee profits, that’s fundamentally wrong” #springst
"When we bought in, we were expecting something very, very different from what's being delivered at the moment.” Truganina locals met the consumer affairs minister. They want tougher marketing regulations for new estates. abc.net.au/news/2023-05-1…
Interestingly, the Property Council is calling on the state government to ensure all infrastructure listed on a Precinct Structure Plan is delivered within 2 yrs of people moving in.

IMF: "Below the surface...turbulence is building, and the situation is quite fragile, as the recent bout of banking instability reminded us. Inflation is much stickier than anticipated even a few months ago...core inflation...has not yet peaked in many countries"
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, holds her smart phone with former US President Donald Trump on the line, as Rep. Matt Rosendale, a Republican from Montana, waves it off during a meeting of the 118th Congress in the House Chamber on Friday. #SpeakerVote
You know what's hilariously sad? The amount of PSPs that have been approved emanating from Werribee and along the Sunshine-Melton corridor - ditto up to Wallan. The same auto-centric issues are going to plague the west and north for decades to come. theage.com.au/politics/victo…

Scott Morrison’s secret swearing-in as joint minister for three portfolios is a serious breach of Westminster tradition, cabinet governance and parliamentary convention. He had an obligation to inform cabinet, parliament and the Australian people. #auspol
In the biggest casualty of the night so far, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is projected to lose the Victorian seat of Kooyong to Independent Monique Ryan. Follow our live election coverage: theage.com.au/politics/feder… #AusPol #AusVotes #AusVotes22 #AusVotes2022 #kooyongvotes
Unlike similar programs in other countries, the $88bn JobKeeper program lacked mechanisms to prevent public funds going to companies that didn't need it. And the recipients were kept secret. That’s not responsible economic management. What was @JoshFrydenberg trying to hide?
Australia is home to less than half a percent of the world’s population but has 20 percent of its pokies. washingtonpost.com/world/2022/04/…
Saying no to increasing jobkeeper will hurt Labor more than the LNP. The highest unemployment rates, youth jobless and non participation are in Labor seats. Double digits in some. Why would these people vote Labor if Labor is not going to help them? 1.
There are issues with shortages of maternal and child health nurses across Victoria. This from a 2017 auditor general report: “Overall, there is no sound understanding of the demand for, and supply of, [maternal and child health] nurses at the local level.”
"The reality is we cannot cope with the amount of demand that's currently here in our city." With more than 110 births a week, @WyndhamCouncil says state Govt funding has not kept up with population growth. abc.net.au/news/2022-04-1…
