In 2018 I decided to proactively collate info needed to rapidly develop epi-models for high-threat pathogens. We started a multi-pathogen review, mostly paused in the pandemic (but used info on SARS/MERS for early COVID models) and recently restarted. Hear about this project here

NEW EPISODE #ScienceInContext ➡️@dr_anne_cori joins @SabineLvE to speak about the pathogen epidemiology review group ➡️R package #EpiReview ➡️Catalogue for mathematical modelling parameters facilitating rapid response to potential outbreaks of 9 @WHO priority pathogens 🧵(1/6)

Thanks @Anna_Carnegie @seabbs et al for this great session on modelling Covid-19. My take home: - it was really hard - support staff (software devs, project managers, IT, admins) were key & must have clearer career progression pathways - funders must invest ahead of next event

What was it like doing modelling work as part of the COVID-19 response and what can we do to improve future responses? biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

We have unintentionally chosen the date of SMIDDY'23 at the same time as the ASTMH annual meeting. Hence, we wanted to sincerely apologize to some of our global health/NTD colleagues that cannot attend this edition. You'll be missed😢

🇨🇭Switzerland-based infectious disease modelers, save the date for SMIDDY 2023✨

⚠️Save the date for the Swiss Meeting for Infectious Disease Dynamics 2023⚠️ A one-day meeting on October 20, 2023, in Bern, themed "Modelling infectious diseases during the pandemic: advances in methods and its role for policy making". More info on smiddy.ch!

Come work with us on this great project!
