If film studies is not a meritocracy, then it shouldn't exist. In before the inevitable "either/or" fallacy, because occasionally there are points in life in which one has to pick a side.

Actually, most of the sound recording in Tenant isn't that bad. Then Tom Hardy shows up and it's : We are prepared to schmscohsmshsnhsmsshrhve!

He could live to 120, and it would still be too soon.

“If you’re gonna be that nice to me, i’ve gotta live to be 100,” john williams in a sea of lightsabers celebrating his 90th at the Hollywood bowl

Honestly, it's that era. I feel like the post Tarzan pre StarMarvalPixalish era tends to be kind of left behind.

I'll never understand how a film as creative as Treasure Planet isn't talked about more. IMO it's one of the greatest animated films ever

My advice would be to do some type of art that takes research. It could be writing a song, poem, anything. What I find is that the knowledge will find you if you care enough.

The reason I gave that last tweet is because frankly, I don't want to talk about it much, because the middle class pushes college like it's a one-size-fits all, and anti-education people act as if it's the same world in which a decent job could stem from a HS degree.

John's position on college: Trade school for technical jobs, University for business jobs, all art can be self-taught, but you probably want some degree if working in the humanities. But also, it's as much a business as Starbucks. Yeah, I went there ;)

Hehe, I'm old enough to remember when 90 million dollars was a big budget movie.

businessinsider.com/what-happens-w… They'll probably just renew the copyrights like most companies do. But also, if the world gave me the legal rights to Batman/DC characters, this is not a negative thing.

And hey, just because I have issues with both parties, doesn't mean I won't choose the unsweeted lemonade to the left of the corrosive substance.

The left argues for degree inflation with the concept of "unqualified applicants" and the right argues against public education in general, and so I feel like the monster that gets fed is the requirement to have a BA degree for entry level work of any kind, while *expecting* a MA

I mean, maybe part of the problem is USA society demands a BA degree+ 3 years of career experience or terminal degree, thus risking the amount of debt that can be accrued. I think both parties are at fault for this system.

^ I agree with this tweet. But also, if Jesus wanted one to follow him to an unimaginable end, why wouldn't He want us to make life easier on those who made questionable or maybe optimal life decisions?

Pretty sure it does... "He said to them, “My cup you shall drink"... this is in reference to the type of death they would undergo. Almost every single one of the 12 apostles died a martyr's death, except John, the beloved disciple. He died by giving his entire life to God.
