If anyone is on Bluesky look me up. It's nicer over there. I'm hoping we'll build a strong network of academics, intel folks, and people interested in discussing real topics with less craziness, agitprop, and fake news. I also talk about music more.

Cancelled my subscription here. Hoping to see more of you all over at Blue Sky. I probably won't completely deactivate, but I think there is too much negativity here to justify paying for it.

Listening to Lebanese musician Ibrahim Maalouf's excellent trumpet playing on his latest album "Trumpets of Michel-Ange."

First I'm seeing unfounded rumors coming from the muqawama regarding Benny Gantz and now he's coming out against a cease-fire in Lebanon. In fact, he's calling for a deeper ground invasion and wider bombing attacks. (He's in the opposition, btw.)

Although most of you all I follow are normal, this site has gotten very toxic, unfortunately. It was a sort of frog in the warming water experience. Since Elon took over I've witnessed trash getting promoted here for too long. A bunch of us are starting over on Blue Sky Social.

This is crazy, and it sends a very bad message to Lebanon, as well.

Israel's Defense Ministry signed yesterday a deal to procure a squadron of F-15IA fighter jets — the Israeli variant of the advanced F-15EX. The $5.2 billion deal includes 25 F-15IA jets, produced by Boeing, with options for 25 more. The jets are being financed by US military…

Bibi already called Trump. He had to beg Biden for a call just a few weeks ago. That says a lot about Bibi and Trump, but it says a lot about Biden, as well. He was kind of a ghost for the past four months. He just couldn't do it. He had nothing to add to the campaign for Harris.

Did you know that nearly 100 West Bank women, incl two minors, are being held in so-called administrative detention; no charges, no civil court, no translators, no family visits, no Red Cross visits etc. are being held by the Israeli army? There aren't only hostages in Gaza

The Israeli administration at #DamonPrison banned Palestinian female prisoners from wearing the $hijab, confiscating their jilbabs, hijabs and niqabs, and replacing them with gray tracksuits that do not include anything to cover the head. With winter approaching, each prisoner is…

One a basic moral level: Who cares if Gaza affected the US elections? Israel must work harder to reach a deal, even if it means exiting Gaza for the near term. Hamas may exist. But it has no teeth. We need to end this and get back the hostages, NOW.

When I visited Gaza in February, I was shaken by what I witnessed & stories I heard. Returning this week, it is clear that the situation has drastically worsened. Palestinians are struggling to secure basic food, medicine, or shelter, and winter is approaching. 1/2

Defiant tone from Naim Qassem, Hezbollah's new leader. The situation in America may give Israel more freedom of action, but in order to battle Iran directly, Israel needs American support and that of regional allies, as well. So Israel is on its own, for better or worse.

Hezbollahs new leader: “The battle is being fought on two levels: the front lines at the border, where resistance fighters engage directly with the Israeli army, and the domestic front, where missiles and aircraft reach Israel’s interior, forcing them to bear the cost and…

Weird weather here in TLV. It's 31 degrees (88f) when a couple of days ago we woke to to temps in the teens.

Me when the media tells me they fixed their polling problems from 2016 and believing them that the race was actually close.

65% of Alabama voters voted for Trump. Where Black men get hung in 2024. 60% of the voters in California voted for Harris. California is the 5th largest economy in the world. California taxes subsidize many of the underpaying states that voted for Trump. Let that sink in.

I'm not usually one to go to protests because I feel like they are more of a self-indulgent pat on the back. But I'm in the Ayalon Highway now with thousands of people and so tired of this government, its crimes, and its political shenanigans.
