The Paris 2024 Olympic Games have officially begun! As tradition goes, the 🇬🇷 Greek team proudly leads the Parade of Nations, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Antigoni Drisbioti serving as flag-bearers. Let the games begin! #GoGreece @Paris2024 @HellenicOlympic #OlympicGames

During the Vietnam War, Donald Sutherland, along with Jane Fonda and the FTA troupe, organized an antiwar tour to counter Bob Hope's pro-war tour. It showed solidarity with a movement of G.I. resisters and traveled to various U.S. military bases. RIP.

I love living in Takoma Park, MD where this is the norm. Almost every house on my street is a a multi-family home offering rent-controlled units of many sizes.

Changes are being made in some places. Minneapolis just relaxed its zoning laws to allow more multi-family homes to be built — but there's a lot left to do...

If you’ve ever benefited from Learning for Justice (formerly Teaching Tolerance) you should know that @splcenter gutted the department today. Devastating for the workers and for educators who need these resources.

Functionally eliminating the Learning for Justice department leaves educators, students, and caregivers without resources and support in building curricula and orienting classrooms toward justice work.

Thread 1/n: My kids and I were horrified at our recent visit to New York City’s American Museum of Natural History @AMNH . It was mindboggling, after the carefully curated exhibitions at the New-York Historical Society down the street. Is this a museum or a time-capsule? Why are

All of these feelings this week as we prepare to send off our seniors tomorrow 💛

Today is the last day to sign on - we are 150 signatures from hitting 500! Please help stop the deportation of Mr. Baugh to ensure he can stay with his family who needs him. Takes less than 10 seconds of your time.

I am so happy to announce that Mr. Baugh has been released from ICE detention and reunited with his family in the Bronx. We are still collecting signatures to support him in his upcoming adjustment hearing. Please sign on: actionnetwork.org/petitions/keep…

The first time I asked for an undocumented client to be unshackled in court to hug his family one last time before being imprisoned and deported, a lawyer from the "Department of Justice" stood up and objected "on behalf of the United States."

thinking again today about how when I was at USC a professor commented that all of the sections of campus built aftee 1970 were designed to make student gatherings difficult (no sightlines, isolated unconnected green spaces, etc) to prevent protest

Went to my local library to view the eclipse and was awestruck alongside students, neighbors, & strangers. Library provided protective glasses, some folks had solar telescopes they were willing to share. Very cool, and very moved by our collective aliveness. #SolarEclipse2024
