People with a job on release are less likely to re-offend, so we support prisoners with applications and interview prep as part of their resettlement plan. Thanks to this, a prisoner recently secured a role within the Cabinet Office, helping them to get their life back on track.

On Hidden Heroes Day, we were pleased to recognise colleagues who make invaluable contributions and help us secure the best possible outcomes for the public and prisoners. Here's our Governor alongside Linda and Hayley, who won the Unsung Hero and Sunshine Award categories. 🏆🦸‍♀️

While we focus on inclusion all year round, this week is National Inclusion Week, so we're celebrating with focused activities in our education classrooms to ensure we’re creating a culture that aids rehabilitation.

We're delighted the Solan Cancer Trust has opened a charity shop located near our external coffee shop, where prisoners will learn new skills for employment. All proceeds from the charity shop will support the vital work they do helping those affected by a cancer diagnosis.

The Senior Leadership Team had a productive business planning meeting at Cod Beck Blenders – an amazing employer working with us to provide prisoners work opportunities on release. A site tour by our lads was a highlight, showcasing the success of this partnership 👍

You may have noticed that we take pride in growing as much organic produce as possible across our gardens department where prisoners are learning valuable skills in growing fruit and vegetables from seed. Our tomatoes are now ripe and are ready for our kitchens to use 🍅

Is it too early to start thinking about Christmas? Not here at @HMPKirklev where prisoners working in our welding workshop are already busy making products for our Christmas Market. This work gives prisoners valuable practical and life skills for employment on release.

This World Hepatitis Day, we are raising awareness about Hepatitis and the impact it has on millions of lives. We marked the day by planting blue and purple flowers and giving prisoners the opportunity to be tested.

Prisoners working in our welding department have been busy making statues. They've even started working on Christmas Market products🎄 By attending these workshops, prisoners learn not only how to weld, but gain communication, problem solving, and self-sufficiency skills.

Here at HMP Kirklevington Grange, we grow organic produce which we then use in our kitchens. The prisoners can learn valuable cooking skills which they can use upon release. Here you can see the corn is nearly ready! 🌽

We have various support services available to help our prisoners gain employment upon release. Our job opportunity board is regularly updated, and we have an Employment Hub for drop-ins, employability sessions, and employers can also come in to conduct interviews.
