Woodhead reservoir, A Crossbill was bird of the day, heard it's 'chip' call as it flew over. 1 Lapwing on the peninsula. 2 Buzzard, 2 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Chiffchaff (sticking it out), 10 Redwing, 3 Stonechat, 2 Meadow Pipit & 4 Reed Bunting observed. #derbyshirebirds

Whitely Nab 04.10.24, first Brambling (4) and Redwing (10) of the Autumn, for me. Brambling were feeding on fallen rowan berries. 1 Kestrel seen. Also, 9 Meadow Pipit, 1 Mistle Thrush, 2 Song Thrush, 3 Chiffchaff and 5 Lesser Redpoll. ##derbyshirebirds

Arnfield reservoir, nice addition to my Derbyshire year list today in the shape of this drake Pochard. Also on the water were 102 Canada Geese, 32 Mallard, 1 Tufted Duck & 5 Cormorant. 2 Chiffchaff & 1 Blackcap recorded. 1 Dipper on intake & 9 Meadow Pipit seen. #derbyshirebirds

Woodseats/Chisworth this morning, 1 Kingfisher near probable nesting site. Juvenile Dipper on river. 4 Grey Wagtail and 1 Pied Wagtail seen. Fledgling Tawny Owl being harassed by group of noisy Blackbirds. 1 Goosander passed low over river. #derbyshirebirds

Not a great photo but pretty sure i captured a young Pike at RSPB Old Moor today. Also saw 3 Marsh Harrier, 1 Spoonbill, 4 Shelduck, 4 Avocet, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Redshank, at least 70 Swift above reserve and a Fox causing havoc on main mere. @RSPB_OldMoor
