Amazing morning in Elgin county pulling some @swatmaps samples!

Customer was truly blown away by finally getting his zones right using @swatmaps! The issues with his soil ph really showed up when we developed the correct zones to accurately apply his @CalciumProducts #98G. Looking forward to seeing the results in 2025!

“Ground truthing” is such a critical step in making sure you have a map that actually fits the variability in the field, then you have a solid base layer to build your agronomy around. Fertility, plant populations, Nitrogen management is just the start.

Trying to make the most of this weather! But apparently I need to give the rig a bath sooner than later.

Took sometime this weekend to pull out the 1854 hand drawn pumper for some calendar pictures. Can’t wait to see the final product.

Ratios are important when dealing with fertility. Running about a 1/30 Butter tart/samples ratio on soybean stubble this morning.

Corb Lund and coffee this morning in New Liskeard. Been a good run but time to go back south and chase more combines!!! @ALCanadaLabs

Pulling some late season tissue tests from Zones 1/5/10 this morning. Wondering what value we could learn for tuning in fertility compared to our soil tests. Looks like too much water has hurt the zone 10s even on this lighter Norfolk soil. @swatmaps

The reason soil mapping with @swatmaps for VR lime is so important is not just for identifying pH variability. By mapping relative texture and OM variability we effectively map out buffer pH and how much lime is needed for correction. Sandy, low OM soils are easier to correct!

Starting the day right with some @swatmaps

Corn tasseling, wheat off, in the thick of sampling season already, seems early but still my favourite time of year!! @ALCanadaLabs
