If you want to predict kids' screen time, look to their parents. Children spend less time on devices when their parents use them less often—and ban them at meals & bedtime. Kids internalize the values they observe. A key to being a good role model is setting healthy boundaries.

Urging people to be positive doesn’t boost their resilience. It denies their reality. When times are tough, we don’t need good vibes only. We need a hand to keep us steady through all the vibrations. Strength doesn’t come from forced smiles. It comes from feeling supported.…

It’s not just seeing suffering that's painful. It’s hurting for others while feeling unable to help. There’s a term for that helplessness: empathic distress. Over time, it leads to burnout and withdrawal. If you're overwhelmed and exhausted by a heavy heart, you are not alone.

Teach #dppsychology? Open unit on memory by giving students blank paper w/ 4 circles on it. Solo, then pair & finally in groups, ask them to draw each ball from memory. Will access all parts of Cog Approach, esp if you show this vid at end for Ext’s #dppsych

Students are easily distracted, but regular, short brain breaks can help them focus, increase their productivity, and reduce their stress. Here's a really fun brain break to try. 👇
