“Economic modelling has routinely underestimated the rate at which solar panels, batteries and wind turbines can get cheaper.” —— ♻️🔋☀️#climatetech #cleanenergy economist.com/leaders/2024/1…

No surprise the double-income no kids (DINK) group are winners — — “Nearly three-quarters of people who bought homes between July 2023 and June 2024 had no children under 18 living with them—another all-time low” — 🏡 #realestate #housingtrends wsj.com/economy/housin…

Less moving parts equals lower maintenance. And total cost of ownership will continue to decline. The best technology jd engineering will win. That won’t be ICE products.

This might be a dumb question. But setting aside what people think about optimal policies, or climate change or anything like that. But simply as a consumer product, is there anyone who thinks that ultimately the EV won't win out over ICE?

This weekend I saw the ⁦@LucidMotors⁩ Gravity — 400+ range — $80-$95K depending on model. ++++++ 🔋 #EVs #electricvehicles #lucidmotors

Despite the tempered pace, #EV sales are heading for another record year. BloombergNEF estimates that global EV sales, including battery-electric and plug-in hybrids, will climb to 16.7 million units this year, up from 13.9 million in 2023. 💡 Read more: bloom.bg/3O6GYqd

Solar PV. 68 years from the Bell Solar Battery (1954) to the first terawatt installed (2022). 2 years (2024) to install the second terawatt. @GSolarCouncil

Dare to be an optimist.🔋☀️ #cleanenergy

Pessimists sound clever. Optimists change the world. I love this depiction of the energy transition by RMI.

Word of the day is ‘recrudescence’ (17th century): the return of something terrible after a time of reprieve.

“There's an outcry for a dramatic shift, esp. economic.” — Really bizarre take when the U.S. economy is the strongest in the world. Just shows how ignorant people are when “eggs are too expensive” is what sticks.

In the end, it came down to 2 big factors: 1) Inflation. People are angry about high prices. The situation has improved a lot since 2022, but this chart (below) was top of mind for many. 2) Change. Americans want change, especially from neoliberalism. That's the one thread that…

And your passports.

Helpful tip: One thing you might want to do before Jan. 20th is update all your vaccinations.

I don’t consider climate science an “ideology.” Ask people in Asheville how they view the risk. Some won’t go back and some won’t rebuild. They’re already proving you wrong.

The American public does not operate under this ideology, and never will: "President Biden has been clear that climate change is the existential threat of our time – and we must act with the urgency it demands to protect the future for generations to come."

Terrible take. Who do you think helped create these shit holes? Attributing the economic struggles of gutted regions to Dem policy is incredibly naive. Do better.

Look at this front porch. Really look at it. The entire PA town where I canvassed today looked like this. Towns across America look like this. Fuck macroeconomics. Until the Democrats manage to pass policy that really renews this country, the fascist threat will never go away.
