NYC has been adding 100 known monkeypox cases a day (today at 1,937), though the real number is likely higher as testing remains limited. My story on the U.S. response to this latest outbreak, and parallels to the early COVID-19 response. channelnewsasia.com/watch/us-offic…

Maxwell's lawyer outside court: "Ghislaine will be exercising her right to appeal." She was just sentenced to 20 years for sex trafficking minors. She took the stand today, carefully choosing her words, saying she was sorry for the impact on the victims' lives but not her actions

In Manhattan federal court where Ghislaine Maxwell will be sentenced for sex trafficking. Prosecutors are seeking up to 55 years in prison, while her defence will argue for no more than 5 years and 3 months. We're expecting to hear from eight victims today.

The march ended at the Trois-Rivieres port. 2,500 people came, from all corners of the province. I spoke to a family who lives near Kuujjuaq, they travelled for two days to get here. They say they want to fight to end systemic racism in Quebec once and for all @CTVMontreal

A mom whose daughter was at Joliette ER after a car accident in Sept. said she heard an employee say “finally, we’ll have some peace, she’s dead” after Echaquan died. Says all day staff was complaining about Joyce who was in pain screaming, and making racist remarks @CTVMontreal

Hearings have resumed in Trois-Rivieres into death of Joyce Echaquan. Coroner started by apologizing for losing patience last week, but said we need to question what happened, that it’s what anyone would want if it was a member of their family. Background: montreal.ctvnews.ca/coroner-for-ec…

Dr. Arruda has arrived at a pharmacy in Saint-Eustache to get a first COVID-19 shot. He’ll speak to reporters after. Will Quebec follow provinces like Ontario in lowering the age for the AstraZeneca shot, after the change in guidelines from the feds over the weekend? @CTVMontreal
