Happy Febru-Rory Gallagher! The thing I love most about this Rory Gallagher poster, now back on sale, is that it shows what a huge Patricia Highsmith fan he was.

Bush got it wrong: Emily Clyburn, a librarian and Civil Rights activist who died in Sept. 2019 at the age of 80, is "the savior."

Clyburn says when Biden was taking the oath of office, he was thinking of his wife and the night after his fish fry when his wife said to him "our best chance of winning the presidency is to nominate Joe Biden."

My two current passions -- Walter Scott and being an Anti-NIMBY crank -- have come to into unfortunate conflict.

As the eyes of the world fall on Abbotsford for Walter Scott’s 250th anniversary, let’s not let our visitors be greeted by the sounds of diggers across the Tweed. We are asking you to please join us in objecting to the proposed housing development below: scottsabbotsford.com/news/housing-d…

2 of 2. Many of us have dedicated our careers 2 bring peace thru agriculture n some of most unstable countries n world & to see this happen in our own country was heart breaking. Regardless of what side u align, we r Americans & please take a stand against this & bring healing.

1 of 2. My grandfather taught me 2 never make political statements but as I saw insurgents running past his statue & many other patriots in Statuary Hall, I was horrified that this was the United States.

I just realized the Walter Scott statue in Central Park also features a larger-than-life bronze of this favorite of Scott's hounds! #Scott250

Any decent list of "top dog graves in Scotland" includes this moving monument to Sir Walter Scott's wolfhound/deerhound mix Maida (1813-1824) at Abbotsford.

.@MaryLTrump's book describes the wooden cigar-store Indians as "wooden Indian chief statues that were lined up against the wall like sarcophagi." Don't know what happened to them or if they are still there.

Holy Moly~

SHARKS! chasing bunker fish. #Rockaway As Robbie Ostrander, our fave photog says, "This is some National Geographic shit." Scary and beautiful.

Public Toilets were the first issue ever tackled by @CitizensUnionNY, at their first meeting in 1893 in the Brooklyn home of Christian Scientist politician (and future congressman) Robert Baker.

I'm doing a zoom talk on VICTORIAN PUBLIC TOILETS for some lucky students on Wednesday ... given I have to knock it into shape (last done in 2014) would anyone on here like to hear it next Sunday, say? (gratis.) slightly worried that I have probably lost all the images.
