Fishtek’s fisheries team undertook the IFM's fish ID course yesterday as a refresher to get our eye in for the coming season of fish surveys. This was a fantastic and very interesting course, with a few surprise fish thrown in to keep us on our toes!

We're using 3d printing to optimise our eel pass latch system which allows for anti-predation covers to be lifted from the bankside for routine inspection. H&S is at the forefront of our design process & we strive to design & fabricate long lasting & maintainable fish&eel passes

Salmon and eels face numerous challenges in their journey upstream that impede their progress. Our team here at Fishtek provide innovative solutions in the form of salmon and eel passes, designed to help these iconic species overcome these obstacles. fishtek.co.uk/services/eel-p…

A fantastic collaborative effort involving the @EnvAgency @YorkshireWater @thedontrust @DonCatchmentRT @FishtekConsult & @CRCivils . Removing the flow impoundment has already resulted in the quick restoration of habitats such as riffles. One less barrier on the River Don!

Exciting news for the River Don! Stocksbridge Weir has been partially removed, allowing for the upstream passage of Atlantic salmon and other migratory fish. #RiverRestoration #Collaboration #EnvironmentalSuccess

Fishtek Ltd Reposted

A glorious September day to head ‘down west’ to visit St Erth Gauging Station on the River Hayle @FishtekConsult have placed a fish pass on the weir. This means the gauge can go on recording important flow data with improved fish porosity. A good balance struck! @HydrometryEA

Some of the team are out and about in the South-East this week and took the opportunity to revisit a natural bypass / brush fish pass we designed a few years ago. It’s ‘bedded in’ now and is looking great!

#teambuilding day at Fishtek’s re-wilding / carbon offsetting project. We got the last of the mulch mats in and weeded the trees that have been in since last winter. Even the weather behaved!
