Always exciting to kick off the ASSURE program application season. Know of any college students in #StLouis who are looking for an introduction to research? ASSURE is specifically intended for students who have not had easy access to similar opportunities. #ASSURE2025

Anesthesiology Summer Research Fellowship apps are now open for the summer 2025 cohort! All #STL area undergrads/recent college grads can apply. Students from backgrounds historically underrepresented in science/medicine are encouraged to apply: assure.wustl.edu

We worked hard to get polling stations on both @WUSTL campuses. @WashUdbbs and others who want to vote in STL city (students, faculty, staff, patients) please use the NEW polling station in McDonnell Building.

Tomorrow is #ElectionDay! The WashU Athletic Complex will welcome students, faculty, staff, and neighbors registered to vote in St. Louis County. For the first time, @washumedicine will also host a polling place for St. Louis City registered voters. bit.ly/3UCY4Qe

Congrats to Noah Kabbaj @WUSTL_ENDURE scholar and the rest of the @SACNAS future of science undergrads!!

We are so proud of our research presenter awardees at SACNAS! 🎉 Congratulations on your hard work, resilience, and dedication to innovation in STEM. 🌟 Keep shining! For a full list of award winners, click here: hubs.la/Q02WJCZk0 #SACNAS #STEMExcellence

Your claims are supported by evidence for permanent Standard Time—the opposite of your proposed permanent DST. Please amend! #DitchDST @SenRickScott @ScottforFlorida

Don’t forget to fall back tonight! And when you wake up tired, remember it shouldn’t be this way. We need to pass my bill and lock the clock once and for all!

Happy end of Daylight Saving Time. For health, safety, and economics let’s keep Permanent Standard Time. @SRBR_Outreach @SaveStandard @ResearchSleep

20 states have posted bills for permanent Standard Time this year. That has to be a record.

Did you know that obesity causes cellular senescence in the joints? Check out our latest gene therapy - an enzyme called fat-1 that converts inflammatory fatty acids into anti-inflammatory ones - and reduces osteoarthritis and senescence! pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

Congrats Ruhang Tang & @NHarasymowicz for our new @PNASNews paper on gene therapy for fat-1, an enzyme that converts 𝜔-6 fats (frying oil/meat) to 𝜔-3’s (fish/nuts). Increased 𝜔-3:𝜔-6 reduced inflammation, osteoarthritis, and markers of cell aging! pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

In adults, the stress hormone cortisol shows a very clear 24-hour rhythm, with highest levels in the morning. But what's this like in babies 👶? In our new IPD meta-analysis, we show that this rhythm gradually emerges in the first year of life. Read more: doi.org/10.1210/clinem…
