I'm so blessed to have my name, Shraddha. It is a beautiful Sanskirt name meaning Devotion, given to me by my mother who knew me before I even knew myself. I wish to honor her memory and myself by requiring those who speak of me, to say my name correctly. youtu.be/y3gpZLKh0jI

White friends, especially white women who did not have an undergraduate sorority experience: In the coming months you’ll likely see a great deal of content about VP Harris’ sorority affiliation and the support from its members. We 🩷 it. Some info & tips for us: 🧵

Why is my feed filled with all these random right wing tweets and people I don’t follow? Is this 🐦 now? I might go back to not being here.

I just wrote a @NPEaction letter: Tell Congress. Cut the Charter School Programs. Stop the Waste and Fraud. Fully fund public schools! Write one here: actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-c…

Writing a lesson about understanding the impact/effectiveness of school closures. My district is looking to potentially close 20 schools in a couple years. Trying to have students move past outrage and into understanding/positive action. Any resources from folx? TIA!

Wow it’s been a really long time since I’ve been on this app. Not since the bird went away. What’d I miss?

I’ve decided to start working on taking more higher level math classes. I have a complex relationship with college math (namely post calculus) and want to serve my curiosity that was stifled by the system as a disabled child. Wish me luck!

Imagine you go to the Dr. for a routine check up. A week later, you get a phone call from the doctors office. “Dr. Smith said he’d like to see you in the next day or two to discuss your physical exam.” That “punched in the gut” feeling is immediate, and your thoughts are…

After six years, it's easy to take for granted the fact that I know my authentic self, that I don't have to spend my life in hiding, mired in fear and self-hatred, forced to perform the gender identity that society assigned to me. But it is, in fact, a miracle. 1/

Today, the #SupremeCourt hyper-partisan majority ruled to strike down #AffirmativeAction policies at Harvard and UNC, flouting nearly 50 years of legal precedent and our country’s long history and current reality of racial inequity. But our fight isn’t over.

Serving families is an honor. I regularly thank my students and families for the honor of being their teacher. And I mean it deeply.

Principals, when collaborating with families, let's make respect, active listening, & strength-based partnership our top priorities. Serving families is an honor & a privilege, & if we find ourselves lacking this mindset & belief, let's take a moment to check in with ourselves.

My heart goes out to #TamirRice’s family, especially to his mother, Samaria Rice, on today, Tamir’s birthday. He should be celebrating 21 years. It is a grave injustice that he’s not. And I just can’t imagine how devastating that is for Ms. Rice…I’m sorry.

Aadhaar mismatch | A missing letter means no work for MGNREGS workers. Kashipur Block, which has a huge Adivasi population, has reported one of the highest MGNREGA deletion rates in the country. And 61 lakh workers have been deleted in 2023 alone. This Govt is so anti-poor.

When we assume that clinical struggles are caused by a lack of studying, effort, or discipline… … we are forgetting that the physicians we teach are humans. With real lives. Real concerns. And real problems. This is where the Doctrine of Charity proves helpful. 3/

As I get further from daily interaction with middle schoolers, my advice to the home adults in their lives: 1. No unrestricted access to internet or social media. 2. Are they attention seeking? Then pay attention. Show it at home. 3. Encourage reading in any and all forms.

Peer reviewed articles to support phone policies in class? PRA that highlight students are grade motivated? PRA highlighting how WoC have to do more to justify our work than our male/white counterparts? Feel free to guess what’s going on in my life. Thank you in advance!
