What a day!!! Just got a response from @NSF that they changed the policy to include any schools with closures this week. Thank you to all who applied pressure by emailing! Need a rec letter extension? Fill out this form: grfp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/reque…

Our UF faculty are starting to hear back that @NSF is denying our requests because as of right now, we are not officially closed on Oct 11 - this is a ridiculous policy that disregards what it means to prep for a natural disaster. Very disappointed!

Look at @AlexMJ_PhD over here crushing the game! This is such cool and important research that will help a lot of people. I’m so thankful our @UFBreathe timelines overlapped, proud of you Alex🎉

Incredibly proud and humbled to receive a @nih_nhlbi K99/R00 Transition to Independence Award to study how the APOE4 gene interacts with other triggers of neuroinflammation to undermine respiratory plasticity in a time-of-day-dependent manner! 🎉
