This week @DalHealth is taking time to thank the Health Heroes who are working day & night to support us through the pandemic. Today I want to thank those clinicians who are also preceptors & who serve critical roles in teaching our students & preparing them for practice!
Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, and the theme for 2021 is “Together: Resisting, supporting, healing”. Today, and every day, #DalhousieU celebrates and embraces the diversity of its students, faculty, staff and the greater community.

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Dr. Mark Ross has passed away. Dr. Ross was Dr. Richard Seewald's original collaborator on the DSL Method, and Richard's Ph.D. advisor. Mark was a strong advocate for those who are hard of hearing in his retirement.

Returning post-secondary students from outside Atlantic Canada should get 1 COVID-19 test on day 6, 7 or 8 of self-isolation. Appointments can be booked up to 3 days in advance at: covid-self-assessment.novascotia.ca/en
Welcome to our returning and new post-secondary students! Any student coming to Nova Scotia from outside Atlantic Canada must self-isolate for 14 days. Students who live in Atlantic Canada do not have to self-isolate unless they have travelled outside the region.
Hope. This vial contained the first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine administered in Nova Scotia. Today it was acquired by the Nova Scotia Museum, where it will be preserved in our collections and forever be part of our story. Accession number 2020.9.1

Thank you to those who have gotten tested!
This week, thousands of our young people - the 18-35 age group - stood in the rain and the cold to get a #COVID19NS test. Not because they were sick, but because we asked. They stepped up & showed leadership, protecting their fellow Nova Scotians, and for that, we say thank you.
Just witnessed a very happy boy walk out of gym class while hugging his COVID stuffy!
