A modest proposal: as our faith community becomes more polarized due to our divisive culture wars, let’s agree to leave our politics at the door. Only then can our worship influence our politics, rather than our politics influencing our worship.

Today is the 5th anniversary of my “recalibration” – to March Forth into a preferred, intentional, grace-filled future. This has been a life-giving re-examination of vocation and ministry and a joy-filled pathway for my journey. Onward to great adventures!

In the past two weeks we went from insurrection to inspiration. We live the Paschal Mystery every day.

With the young Church at the National Catholic Youth Conference... how can our parishes and schools (and families) support, affirm, and empower these passionate disciples? Let’s not miss this graced opportunity.

Spent the day with the theology faculties and campus ministers from seven Catholic HS in MSP archdiocese. Discerning the voice of the Holy Spirit in the chaos of disaffiliation. Going, Going, Gone: Now What?! #catholicresearch

Presenting to the Catholic School Educators in the Diocese of Palm Beach ...”Passing on the Faith: The Pain and the Promise.” These committed teachers are a passionate promise for our children and youth!

Speaking at the Catholic Volunteer Network national conference. “Service is the rent we pay for living on the earth.” These passionate and committed people are ‘paid in full!’ #catholicresearch

Today I am presenting the SMP research on Disaffiliation in Young Catholics at the Diocesan Fiscal Managers Conference. The disaffiliation dynamic has significant implications for all areas of Church life. #catholicresearch

I keynoted the Diocese of Wilmington Spirituality Day - a gathering of all their Catholic schools’ faculty. .. “Passing on the Faith: The Pain and the Promise.” I felt honored - their commitment to children and youth is awe-inspiring and so hopeful! Onward!

Presenting on Disaffiliated Young Catholics and on Recalibration for the ‘wisdom ‘ pastoral leaders at Nat’l Pastoral Musicians Conference. Both topics include finding the Spirit in the chaos!

Just as prophets call Church back to her mission, on this 4th it is prophetic and patriotic to call our country back to our deepest ideals and values.

I have been immersed in antiquity this year: Rome, the Holy Land, and today, Machu Picchu. Oh God, your footprints are everywhere! Mystical.
