I interviewed a woman who runs a successful catechesis program for autistic kids and we ended up talking mostly about preparing them for the sacrament of confession or reconciliation. I think it might help others in similar situations. frmatthewlc.com/blog/2024/11/1…

Just some of the reasons RFK Jr. is a bad choice to lead US public health. (There are more.)

This is Herb Geraghty. Herb was sentenced to over 2 years in prison under the Biden-Harris administration for peacefully protesting abortion and believing unborn children deserve to live. Herb is only 27 years old. @realDonaldTrump pardon all pro-life political prisoners.

I agree with @FrMatthewLC The @US_FDA needs reform, not quackery and evisceration.

RFK Jr. in charge of all public health could be one of the worst decisions for a cabinet post ever. He has for years advocated for ridiculous theories around health directly contrary to the overwhelming evidence. For example, he advocated that nobody could prove the levels of…

On top of all this, RFK Jr. is pretty radically pro-abortion. I'm shocked that many who are focused on fighting against abortion support him here.

Removing human suffering due to illness, disease, injury, etc. is a good thing. It is an act of charity. The whole basis for Catholic hospitals (which were the 1st hospitals) was to do this. Multiple people dedicated to this are canonized saints.

How is it a good thing? So the goal on Earth is to never suffer? God commanded us to pickup our cross not run away from them

I am up to date on all my vaccines including annual flu & covid boosters. That means I am less likely to be infected or infect others. This is a good thing.

You sound vaxxed, padre

FDA employees threaten to quit over RFK Jr.’s HHS appointment, unaware that RFK Jr. plans to fire them all anyway. Lol.

Hopefully, this will be as funny as it sounds. Although I'm not sure how long the joke will last. Yes, it's real. I went to double check. Onion: theonion.com/heres-why-i-de… AP: apnews.com/article/onion-…

The Onion has acquired Infowars in a bankruptcy auction. They plan to debut a new Infowars in January that will serve as parody, mocking weird Internet personalities like Alex Jones. The Onion CEO says they acquired it because “this is the funniest thing that has ever happened”

People on here claim my top issue is this or that. They are often wrong. My top priorities: 1. We all pray daily 2. We all are Catholic 3. We all serve Christ's body

"it was “disturbed” by the practitioner’s manifold failures — lack of preparation, ignorance of MAID policies and procedures, use of the wrong drugs, and leaving the dying person’s bedside for over two hours to get further drugs, as the ones she had been using did not fully work"

In one case, a MAID provider used the wrong drugs and "the family and the deceased person suffered tremendously." Regulators did not refer the case to police. Instead, she was barred from providing euthanasia again, but kept her license to practice medicine.

I was just checking my follower growth over the years using the @waybackmachine Two things: 1. I've had a relatively consistent growth of 5K more followers a year since late 2015 after a quick jump to 35K. 2. I accidentally came across some old bangers. Exhibit A:

#BlackFridayIn3Words Antithesis of Thanksgiving. 1 day you thank God for all you have, the next you greedily try to get more?!?

You sick perverts! Stop this degeneracy & protect #Luce.

Eastern Catholics have much stricter fasts.

We should go back to meatless Fridays, but go vegetarian over fish. It is a good cultural sign where we all encourage each prefer through our practice.

Speaking on how US bishops can better implement "Laudato Si" -- Pope Francis' doc on the environment -- ahead of its 10th anniversary, Archbishop Borys Gudziak suggests that the Church should go back to the practice of meatless Fridays, as "good for the soul and for the planet"

I have an empty drafts on X for the first time in a while

The sacrament of confession / reconciliation is Biblical. The exact form is not decreed in the Bible. The structural form of the confessional is a good way to practice it & conforms to the Bible but is not directly in the Bible.

Is Catholic confession biblical? A. Yes B. No
