What I want primary care to know about anesthesia clearance: 1. With kids, we need a month of no URI before providing an anesthetic for an elective case. I don't care what antibiotics you put them on. Their airways will remain hyper-responsive. #familypractice #pediatrics

What insurrection, you twits?

#MedTwitter : where subjectively marginalized but very well-paid professionals go to complain about how they don't get enough respect. Most of my feed is whining, with occasional clinically useful information.

Two types of posts I ignore, and which may get an immediate unfollow: posts about your gender, and posts about being offended. Doubly if it's both. #whinerslose

One of the biggest fears of patients about to have surgery is the fear of being awake and unable to ask for help while the surgeon is working on their body. This video may remove some of that fear. youtu.be/W-igwvICqB4

Folks are asking why a plane bounces. I spent some time trying to help it make sense. youtu.be/2B_FgiAE8sM

I find most of the comments I read by physicians on Twitter to be gripefests about "sexism," etc. It's getting to where I don't really bother to read most of the tweets anymore. Let's put our energy into more useful pursuits. Tell me about an interesting diagnosis or treatment.

#EHR has made physicians less efficient AND less effective in doing the most important thing they do on a daily basis--> patient care. How did this happen? #EHR- a time vampire created by those not using it, and then designed for the wrong primary purposes. #OUCH @SeemaCMS

Q fr @EtzEchad Were you interested in flying at that young an age (11 yrs)? A: No. 1st airplane I ever saw was one that had crashed in a field nr town when I was 16. I became a pilot cuz as a maintenance guy I saw all the pilots had pretty girls on their arms, clean fingernails..

Someday, Clonidine will be black boxed for risk for hypertensive CVA risk because of once or twice daily dosing. The rebound hypertension happens after every dose unless given every 6 hours, in my observation. #familypractice #medtwitter

Things I don't understand, # 26,419: why do some CRNAs miss their lidocaine in their induction propofol? I know why we give lido IV. But it takes time to work.

In my business, a bad night means someone else is probably having a much worse night. #perspective

So much good here. #celebrategoodmen

Our video response to Gillette. It's time for society to start celebrating each other. Not tearing each other down. #weseethegoodinmen #gillette youtube.com/watch?v=x_HL0w…
